Dear Parents,

To ensure that you clearly understand THRIVE 1+'s course arrangements and related policies, please read these Parent Guidelines carefully before enrolment and payment. Completion of enrolment or payment indicates that you have read, understood and agreed to the arrangements below. If you have any questions, please contact our staff before completing enrolment or payment.

Parent Guidelines

1Centre Environment and Parent Cooperation

  • Please respect our teachers and centre staff. If you have any comments or suggestions, please communicate privately with a teacher or member of staff. Please avoid allowing personal emotions to disrupt the centre's activities or class order.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum inside the centre and remind children not to shout, chase one another or run, so as not to disturb students attending classes.
  • To keep the centre clean, please remove your shoes and wear socks after entering.

2Enrolment, Fees and Course Arrangements

  • Payment deadline: Fees must be paid within 10 days of receiving the centre's invoice. After the deadline, the student's original class time cannot be guaranteed.
  • Holiday programmes: Fees for Christmas, Easter, summer and other holiday programmes are payable upon enrolment. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to students enrolling in the full programme.
  • Changes to a regular class time: One change is permitted free of charge per term (August to the following January, or February to July). Each subsequent change is subject to an administration fee of HK$50.
  • Once confirmed, all courses, make-up classes and workshops cannot be deferred, transferred or refunded.

3Leave and Make-up Class Arrangements

  • Make-up class entitlement: Within the course period purchased and confirmed by the student, each student is entitled to two make-up classes.
  • Notice period: For personal leave, the centre must be notified at least 1 working day (24 hours) before the class. For sick leave, the centre must be notified at least 2 hours before the class. Public holidays are not counted as working days.
  • Completion period: All make-up classes must be completed within 1 month from the date of absence. The centre will endeavour to offer all suitable time slots for parents to choose from.
  • A confirmed make-up class may be rescheduled once only. The centre must be notified at least 1 working day (24 hours) before the make-up class. If timely notice is not given, the make-up class will be deducted and no further arrangement will be made.
  • For personal leave notified less than 24 hours before class, or for absence without notice, the class will be deducted and no make-up class will be provided. Sick leave is handled according to the minimum 2-hour notice requirement above.
  • No make-up class is provided for personal leave from holiday programmes. If a student is absent due to illness, the centre will endeavour to offer an alternative arrangement.
  • A make-up class is not guaranteed to be taught by the student's regular teacher. The centre may place the student in a suitable class taught by another teacher.

4Withdrawal, Absence and Teacher Arrangements

  • If a student misses 3 or more consecutive classes without notifying centre staff at least 24 hours before each class, THRIVE 1+ will no longer reserve the student's original class time.
  • If the regular teacher is unable to teach as scheduled, the centre may arrange a substitute teacher without separate prior notice. The student may also be required to attend at a different time.

5Public Holidays and Adverse Weather

  • Public holidays: The centre is closed and no classes are held.
  • Amber Rainstorm Warning / Standby Signal No. 1: Classes continue as usual.
  • Red Rainstorm Warning / Strong Wind Signal No. 3: The centre remains open. Parents may decide whether the student should attend according to their own circumstances.
  • Black Rainstorm Warning / Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above: All activities will be cancelled if the Hong Kong Observatory announces that the relevant warning or signal will be issued within the next 2 hours.
  • If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is issued while a student is at the centre, the student should remain at the centre for safety until conditions are safe or the student leaves accompanied by a parent.
  • Activities and centre operations will normally resume 2 hours after the warning or signal is cancelled. The centre may decide whether activities will continue according to the actual circumstances.
  • The daily cut-off time is 3:00 p.m. If the warning or signal is cancelled before the cut-off time, classes will resume 2 hours after cancellation. If it remains in force at 3:00 p.m., all classes that day, including make-up classes, will be cancelled.
  • For classes missed due to the force majeure circumstances above, the centre will arrange a make-up class separately.

6Integrity and Intellectual Property

  • Without the prior written permission of THRIVE 1+, students are strictly prohibited from arranging private tuition with the centre's teachers, whether paid or unpaid.
  • All educational and teaching materials provided by the centre are for the use of currently enrolled students only. Reproduction or reprinting in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • THRIVE 1+ reserves all intellectual property rights relating to its classes, courses and training.
  • A parent or guardian who breaches the above terms shall compensate THRIVE 1+ for the related losses and costs.

7Photography, Video and Other Media

  • Prior written permission from THRIVE 1+ is required before taking photographs or making video recordings inside the centre.
  • THRIVE 1+ may use a student's photographs, videos, audio recordings and work for teaching, training and course development. Separate written consent from the parent or guardian will be obtained before such materials are used for publicity or promotion.

8Health, Safety and Disclaimer

  • THRIVE 1+ staff may handle emergency and non-emergency medical situations as appropriate in the circumstances.
  • If the centre determines that a student is not suitable to continue attending, including but not limited to disruption of others' learning, unpaid or irregular fee payment, breach of policy, disruption of class, or the use of insulting language towards staff, other students or parents, the centre may suspend or terminate the student's enrolment without prior notice.
  • All visitors, including students, parents, guardians, volunteers and guests, enter the centre at their own risk. THRIVE 1+ and its staff shall not be held liable for personal injury or loss of property. Parents or guardians shall not make any claim against the centre for any reason. The centre has the final decision in all disputes.

9Amendments and Effective Date

  • THRIVE 1+ may amend, add to or remove any term in these Guidelines as required. The latest version is available at www.thriveoneplus.com. A policy takes effect immediately once published on the website or sent to parents.
  • Continued enrolment after the terms are updated constitutes the parent's acceptance of the revised terms. In the event of any dispute, THRIVE 1+ reserves the right of final decision.
